Our XML Sitemap Checker acts as a rapid diagnostic tool. It parses your sitemap and runs it against standard search engine guidelines to identify structural errors, invalid URLs, and sub-optimal priority or changefreq configurations.
What We Check

How to Use

What is the difference between an error and a warning?
Errors (like missing <loc> tags or malformed XML) will likely cause search engines to reject your sitemap entirely. Warnings (like an invalid changefreq value) usually mean search engines will ignore that specific tag but might still process the rest of the sitemap.
Can I check a sitemap index file?
This tool focuses on validating the actual URL nodes within a standard <urlset> sitemap. If you pass a <sitemapindex>, it will identify it as such, but for deep URL validation, you should input the specific child sitemap URLs.
Why is my sitemap returning a fetch error?
If you are fetching by URL, the server must allow CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) or be publicly accessible. If it is blocked, you can bypass this by pasting the raw XML directly.
How does the URL analysis table work?
The URL analysis table parses all <loc> nodes in your sitemap, extracts their path, priority, and change frequency, and displays them in a searchable, filterable grid for easy auditing.
Can I export the sitemap analysis?
Yes, once the sitemap is parsed, you can click the 'CSV' button in the URL Analysis section to download a complete spreadsheet of all discovered URLs and their metadata.
